Background:

This story series lore starts shortly before the end of The Second Terra Conflict. The former United States of America was under peril by the Imperial Japanese Empire with their merciless army now gaining traction as they push eastward in the Pacifica Ocean. The now strained Americans look to the west as the eastern European Front gained victory for the Soviet Russian Republic and the Britannia Commonwealth against the Nazi Germanic Union years prior.

By 1943, the Japanese were able to maintain a strong foothold im the Pacifica Ocean. With their unprecended fierce tactics of island hopping garnering victory over victory, they were able to make landfall in Hawaii, nearly kicking out U.S Forces off the Big Island. At no better time, atomic technology was acquired, and within weeks, deployed nuclear bombs to the advancing IJN fleet as they were headed to Hawaii to reinforce the beach landings. With nearly 90% of the IJN destroyed within the first few nuclear blasts, this sent the high command of the Japanese Navy into chaos, with the Imperial Army slowly following behind now having no naval support to hold their island territories.

At this point, the combined forces of the U.S Navy and Marine Corps were able to rush westward and retake all the islands leaded to the Japanese mainland swiftly. With the now demoralized state of Imperial troops, many were inclined to surrender the further away from home they were. But as the Americans came closer to Japan, so did the fighting escalate. With no Navy to hold back the advancing forces, it was decided that right before beach landing commenced on the Japanese mainland, U.S officials offered a peace solution to the Japanese Empire. The terms were quite simple.

Either drop their arms and surrender peacefully, or be anilliated by nuclear bombardment on key cities such as Tokyo. With bombers on standby, hours went before the high command of Japan agreed to peace negotiations. Weeks later, onboard the U.S.S Iowa, the Secretary of Defense along with the Admiral of the Navy and General of the Army were enroute to conduct negotations. However, shortly after disembarking and on their escorted ride to the Imperial Palace, an ambush done by rouge IJA batallions ensued upon the convoy, leaving all offficals onboard killed instantly.

It would not take long before bombers were sent by order of the President of the U.S to attack major Japanese cities with atomic bombs. One by one, flashes of light would slowly extend northward as bombs started to drop from Kyushu northward. A relatiatory act that even the world witnessed in shock. As the bombs dropped, the Emperor of Japan would have no more bloodshed on his hands. He immediately reached out to the U.S Embassy where within minutes of calling for a ceasefire, the bombers were called off before any more nuclear destruction reached within reach of Tokyo. The attack on U.S officials were never ordered by himself, nor any remaining Japanese military officials who agreed to peacetalks. After some consideration, peace negotations continued

However, after what has commenced, the U.S brought stricter negotiations to the table. Instead of merely making peace with the Empire of Japan, due to the potential for a future military coup, and as a way of further seeking retribution for the deaths of high ranking U.S government officials, Japan would have to agree to a "temporary annexation" of the country to the United States. How this was written was that from the rubble, not only would the U.S help to rebuild Japan after its nuclear attacks, which they assumed full acknoledgement and responsibility for being excessive in the eyes of the world, but to ensure that Japan's future would never return to its militaristic nature of the Second Terra Conflict.

Though the thought of having the country run by a superpower such as the U.S was a disturbing thought to the Emperor, he realized that by himself, he would never see the restoration of his beautiful country without their support. In much angst, though for the good of his people, he agreed to the negotations. After 20 years of heavy infrastructure repair, by 1969, the now United Regions formally agreed to the independence of the now Greater Japanese Republic to become its own nation once again. With their support now being fulfilled independently, the United Regions can set aside its resources to much bigger objectives. One of which being the further development of military projects such as AADP.
